Day 5.... I thought this first week was going to be the worst week but overall I have not had too many issues with the leg or any real pain. My goal has been to try and have 1% progress everyday and so far that has been made with mobility and being able to stand on the leg without much discomfort. Still using crutches to get around but only under the instruction of the PT and surgeon. I attempted to sleep in my bed last night but the way the pillows were positioned I just couldn't make it past 0500. Not that I was in much pain but overall discomfort was at about 5/10. Just was crappy trying to figure out how to sleep with your leg up when all you want to do is lay on your side.
Not much swelling overall and the exercises are going well. I am still trying like hell to get my quads to fire like the other leg but I have to assume that will happen in time. I can do standard leg raises while clenching my quads for a solid 30 seconds. The PT suggested 10 seconds at the moment but I am just pushing a little further as long as there is no real discomfort. Bending the knee is still hell while doing heel slides! I am not sure what my flexion would be today as I cannot measure but I have to assume it is better than day 3! I am a little nervous about getting it to 90° so I have been pushing the limits but keeping it conservative. Tomorrow morning when I get back into PT I should be able to push it as far as I can and hopefully look in the 80°s or more for flexion.
